We have been working on our multiplication facts. The students have "fortune tellers" that help with the skill. I am encouraging them to get flash card to aid in the memorization of the multiplication facts. The Dollar Tree has great cards, or I have even found some on-line that can be printed at home. This is a life time skill! Thanks for your help and support.
The cut-off for earning the Reading Circle Certificate is Friday, May 6th. I will send another note home this Friday if your child still needs book reports. In order to attend the end of year Reading Celebration, book reports must be turned in by this date. More information will be sent home soon.

MAP celebration
We finished the MAP test on Thursday. The students did such an awesome job, so we thought we should celebrate.
We had 6 different kinds of candy that we wanted to figure out how many pieces were in each bag or box. We knew the serving size and the servings per container so we multiplied to find the total. Next we had to decide how many pieces each student in the class would get, so we divided the total pieces of candy by 24. Then we had our new serving size.
Friday afternoon we enjoyed our candy, popcorn, and a movie.

MAP TEST
One week of MAP testing under our belts-one week to go. The students worked really hard last week on their Math MAP tests. This week we will take the Communication Arts portion of the test. A good nights sleep and breakfast are very important for the students to do their best on the test.
They're Here!
The baby eagles are here! Well, at least 2 of them. The first egg hatched on Saturday, with the second egg hatching on Sunday. The final egg should hatch within the next few days.
We have really enjoyed watching the Decorah eagles. If you haven't checked them out, go to the Eagle Cam link on the class web page.
